I would have to say my neighborhood influenced the way I speak because, was born in what you would call the “ghetto”, and as I grew up my speech only got worse even though I can use words that sound intelligent I choose to speak the way I’m comfortable to speak. Even if that means people think I’m ignorant or don’t care about myself they don’t know me and if they took time to get to know me It would be better because I’m not dumb just the word I choose to use make me sound dumb. If I can go back and change the way I grew up speaking I wouldn’t because I wouldn’t be the person that I am today if I just let what other people have to say effect how I was growing up. I am proud of the person I became and becoming. I thank my neighborhood for giving me the knowledge and words to help me get by on a daily basis. Can’t anybody take away my gift of speech even in the corporate world they can never make me feel less of a person because of the way I talk or converse with others.
